NASHVILLE | The Tennessee Secondary School Athletics Association (TSSAA) on Monday released the region football schedules for each team for 2023-2024.
TSSAA has taken the initiative of scheduling all region games in the state, and then letting teams fill out the remaining portions of their 10-game schedules themselves.
Oneida will open region play in 2023 on Sept. 8 with a visit from Wartburg, and conclude region play on Oct. 27 with a trip to Bledsoe County.
TSSAA is scheduling a region game for each team on the final week of the regular season, meaning the traditional Oneida-Coalfield non-region game will move to early in the season.
Scott High will open region play on Sept. 15 with a visit from Kingston and close out region play on Thursday, Oct. 26, with a visit to Austin-East.
Another move taken by TSSAA, and implemented for the first time in 2022, is to force most teams to play a Thursday night game due to a shortage of game officials.
