The IHSN Team

TimSmith

Tim Smith has been the Voice of the Indians for more than 30 years. He joined WBNT in the late 1980s as the play-by-play man for Oneida football and basketball. A graduate of OHS and former member of the University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Marching Band, Smith is now the director of student services at TN College of Applied Technology in Jacksboro. He is joined on the air by a team that includes Mark Matthews and John L. Strunk for color commentary and Kevin Acres — who also serves as the P.A. voice of Jim May Stadium and OHS Gymnasium — for insight and analysis.

RickKeeton

Ricky A. Keeton has been the voice of Scott High football and basketball for more than 30 years. He joined WBNT in the late 1980s as the play-by-play broadcaster for Highlander sports. He is the former mayor of Scott County and was a long-time member of Scott County Commission. Rick is joined in the booth for football broadcasts by his brother, Harris Keeton, who provides color commentary, and by his cousin, Woody Keeton, who provides statistics and input.

SarahDunlap

Sarah Dunlap is a sports photographer who can usually be found with her camera on the sidelines of Oneida High School football games, basketball games, soccer games, and baseball and softball games — as well as at Bear Creek for youth league games. Her husband, Blake, is a pharmacist at Plateau Drug Center, and they have three sons. Sarah joined the IH team in 2017.

LeEttaBoyatt

LeEtta Boyatt is a sports photographer and statistician who has faithfully been present at most Scott High sporting events through the years. She works as a data specialist at the Scott County School System. Her son, Matt, can often be found working alongside her at football and basketball games. LeEtta is a long-time member of the IH team.

GregBond

Greg is the man who makes the magic happen behind the scenes at the IH Sports Network. IT director for the Scott County School System by day (and night!), Greg works in an executive producer role to make sure all systems are up and running for each Oneida and Scott High broadcast.

BenGarrett

Ben Garrett is the IH Sports Network graphics designer and fills in where needed on game nights. A graduate of Scott High School and the father of two SHS basketball and soccer players, Ben is the publisher of the IH, where he has worked since 2003. He began his journalism career covering Oneida football in 2000 and has covered local high school sports in various capacities for more than 20 years.

Other team members

In addition to the IHSN team members featured above, we work closely with both local school systems to use high school students whenever possible in the roles of videographer and other capacities. Students are eligible to receive class credit in addition to being paid a salary. This pilot program is modeled after a program designed by Greg Bond and Paul Strunk, formerly of WBNT Radio, and began to be implemented at the start of the 2022 season.

Additional IHSN team members will be announced soon!
