JAMESTOWN | Scott High sophomore Riley Lantz had a big night here Thursday.
Lantz won twice, and qualified for the regionals in both of her solo events in addition to bringing home the gold medals.
The sophomore won in the 100-meter hurdles, with a time of 18.02 seconds, finishing more than a second ahead of York Institute senior Sophie Storie.
Lantz then won in the 300-meter hurdles, again finishing more than a second ahead of her closest challenger. Lantz had a time of 56.45 seconds, beating out Livingston Academy sophomore Mallory Lindsay.
Lantz's teammate, junior Hayley Flores, finished seventh in the 100-meter event, with a time of 22.19 seconds. And senior Shannon Baird finished sixth in the 300-meter event, with a time of 1:04.79.
Other highlights Thursday:
• Aidan Roberts finished second in the 300-meter hurdles, with a time of 49.38 seconds. He was less than half a second behind McCreary Central's Kyree Giglio, who won the event with a time of 48.9 seconds.
• Hugo Henry recorded a Top 10 finish in the 100-meter dash, finishing with a time of 12.20 seconds. The event was won by York's Riylin Miller, with a time of 11.32 seconds. Skye Babb finished 13th in the same event, and Apollo Bruce was also in the Top 20.
• Henry finished third in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 25.55 seconds. He was less than half a second behind Livingston's Daniel Bilbrey, who won the event. Scott High's Bo Laxton also recorded a Top 10 finish, coming home ninth with a time of 28.63 seconds.
• Cameron Parker recorded a Top 10 finish in the 400-meter dash, finishing ninth with a time of 1:00.99. The event was won by Stone Memorial's Nathan Wagner, with a time of 54.26 seconds.
• Luke Bowling had a Top 10 finish in the shot put, finishing seventh with a distance of 33 feet, nine inches. The event was won by York's Eli Kirby, with a distance of 45 feet, 10 inches. Scott High's Clayton Carroll and Toby Garrett both recorded Top 15 finishes.
• Abby Henson recorded a Top 5 finish in the 100-meter dash, finishing fifth with a time of 13.94 seconds. Clarkrange's Mattie Bush won the event with a time of 13.30 seconds. Bella Sharpe finished in the Top 10, with a time of 14.65 seconds. Baird finished just outside the Top 10.
• Sharpe also had a Top 10 finish in the long jump, finishing ninth with a distance of 11 feet, 10.75 inches. The event was won by Clarkrange's Bush, with a distance of 17 feet, three inches.
• Avery Miller just cracked the Top 10 in the 200-meter dash, finishing with a time of 35.6 seconds. The event was won by Clarkrange's Bush, with a time of 28.06 seconds.
• The Scott High 4×100 girls relay team finished second, with a time of 58.15 seconds. York won the event with a time of 55.99 seconds.
• Bailee Sexton recorded a Top 10 finish in the shot put, finishing seventh with a distance of 25 feet, four inches. York's Reese Beaty won the event with a distance of 41 feet, two inches.
