Oneida dominates Oakdale in region game

ONEIDA  |  No contest. 

That was perhaps the easiest way to sum up Oneida's Region 2-A game against Oakdale at OHS Gymnasium on Monday (Jan. 16). 

The Indians jumped out to a 20-8 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, scoring at least 20 points in each of the first three periods en route to a 78-40 win over the Eagles.

scored 20 points, while also recording a team-high six assists and five steals. scored 12 points and finished with 11.

Oneida shot 53% from the field, including 46% from 3-point range, and was 67% from the free throw line. 

Oakdale, on the other hand, shot only 38% from the field and was forced into 26 turnovers by the Indians. 

Oneida also had a decisive advantage on the boards, out-rebounding the Eagles 32-19.

It was a night in which many Oneida players saw the floor. Freshman came off the bench to score seven points in what might have been the highlight of the second half.
