ONEIDA | The Lady Indians built a big lead early, then withstood a late Campbell County surge to get back on the winning track in Monday’s (Nov. 28) home-opener at OHS Gymnasium.
Oneida defeated the Cougars 48-45 to improve to 3-1 on the season, holding on for the win after Campbell County had closed a double-digit deficit to a single point late in the game.
Kelsey Pike had a monster game for Oneida, with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Raylie Bush finished with six steals, in addition to eight points.

Oneida started slow at the free throw line, but was solid down the stretch, going 6 of 8 from the stripe in the second half. That, coupled with a 44% shooting effort from the field, gave the Lady Indians all the offense they needed on a night when the defense was outstanding.
Saylor Hutcheson was Campbell County’s leading scorer, finishing with 10 points.
Oneida moves to 3-1 on the season with the win, its only blemish being a setback at Clarkrange a week earlier.
The Lady Indians built their 14-point halftime lead by out-scoring Campbell County 18-8 in the second quarter.
But the Cougars roared back in the third quarter, going on an 18-7 run to close the deficit to 35-32 as the final period began.
